The township consists of 2,200 acres in total and approximately 58% have been developed for urban uses. Basically it is divided into two- (2) distinct area namely West Bank and East Bank.

The self contained nature of the township coupled with thoughtful planning and careful implementation should turn Bandar Darulaman into a vibrant township worthy of its status as a model especially in Kedah Darulaman.

When completed the township of Bandar Darulaman is expected to have a population strength of more than 50,000 people. And when combined with the population of Alor Setar, Jitra and other surrounding areas one is looking at a growth center in every sense of the word.
